Privacy Policy

Last updated: 29 July 2026

This policy explains how Take Toucan handles information on this website and in the iOS app. The app does not ask you to create an account. The website collects your first name and email only when you request email access or choose to contact us. App analytics and diagnostics are optional.

Information We Collect

Analytics and diagnostics

If you choose to share usage data in the app, Take Toucan uses PostHog to collect coarse product analytics and diagnostics. This helps us understand whether the app is working well, improve features, and fix errors.

This may include app launches, feature usage, paywall views, script generation events, recording events, export events, settings changes, durations, counts, sanitized error codes, app version, operating system version, device model, timestamps, and a PostHog distinct identifier.

Purchases and subscriptions

Take Toucan uses RevenueCat to manage in-app purchases, subscriptions, entitlements, and purchase restoration. Apple processes App Store payments, and we do not receive your payment card details.

RevenueCat may receive an app-specific user ID, purchase history, product identifiers, subscription status, entitlement status, renewal or refund status, App Store receipt data, locale, and currency so we can unlock paid features, restore purchases, provide app functionality, prevent fraud, and understand subscription performance.

App-specific identifier

Take Toucan creates a random app-specific user ID stored on your device. This ID is used for purchase entitlement management and, if you consent to analytics, for product analytics.

This identifier is not Apple's advertising identifier, and Take Toucan does not access IDFA.

Attribution and subscription conversion measurement

Take Toucan uses AppsFlyer to measure the source of app installs and limited subscription conversion events. This supports privacy-preserving SKAdNetwork measurement when we run iOS app-install campaigns.

AppsFlyer may process an AppsFlyer app identifier, app and device metadata, IP-derived coarse location, install-attribution data, and the names of limited subscription conversion events. RevenueCat receives the AppsFlyer identifier before a purchase and may send validated subscription lifecycle events to AppsFlyer. We do not send scripts, prompts, recordings, video content, social handles, names, email addresses, payment-card details, purchase prices, or IDFA to AppsFlyer from the app.

Support requests

If you contact us for support or a privacy request, we collect the information you choose to send us so we can respond.

This could include your email address only if you email us or otherwise choose to provide it. The app itself does not ask you to create an account or provide an email address.

Website and Email Information

Attention Architecture email access

If you request the Attention Architecture live reference, we collect your first name and email address so we can send a confirmation email. We add you to the seven-email, 14-day creator sprint only after you explicitly confirm.

We keep the source and version of your consent, confirmation time, unsubscribe status, and whether you tell us you recorded your first video. Unconfirmed addresses are not created as Resend marketing contacts.

Email delivery and engagement

Resend processes the information needed to deliver the confirmation and creator-sprint emails, manage unsubscribes, and protect email deliverability.

We disable open tracking. We may measure deliberate link clicks, delivery, bounces, complaints, unsubscribes, and replies so we can understand whether the sprint is useful and operate it safely.

Website analytics

We use Plausible to measure aggregate website activity and explicit funnel actions without using that information for advertising.

This can include page visits and actions such as requesting access, confirming, opening the live reference, copying the prompt, visiting the setup guide, clicking the App Store link, or self-reporting a first recording.

How We Use Information

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the app.
  • Enable paid features and restore purchases.
  • Understand app usage and prioritize product improvements.
  • Find, diagnose, and fix crashes or technical problems.
  • Prevent fraud, abuse, and unauthorized purchase access.
  • Respond to support, privacy, or legal requests.
  • Confirm requests for the live reference and send the consented seven-email Attention Architecture creator sprint.
  • Record consent, honour unsubscribes, suppress beginner emails after a self-reported first recording, and evaluate explicit funnel actions.

What We Do Not Do

  • We do not sell personal information.
  • We do not use third-party advertising in the app.
  • We do not use IDFA, create advertising profiles, or use app data for retargeting or data-broker purposes. We use AppsFlyer and Apple's SKAdNetwork for privacy-preserving app-install and subscription-conversion measurement when campaigns are active.
  • We do not access Apple's advertising identifier, IDFA.
  • We do not receive your App Store payment card or bank details.
  • We do not send script text, prompt text, TikTok or social handles, recordings, video content, video metadata, drafts, or session replays to PostHog or AppsFlyer.
  • We do not add unconfirmed Attention Architecture requests to a Resend marketing contact list.
  • We do not use an Attention Architecture request as consent for an ongoing newsletter or unrelated marketing.

Third-Party Services

We share information with service providers only as needed for the purposes described in this policy. These providers are expected to protect user data to at least the same standard described here.

AppleProcesses App Store payments, subscriptions, refunds, and purchase restoration.RevenueCatManages in-app purchases, subscriptions, entitlements, purchase restoration, and purchase analytics.PostHogProvides optional product analytics and diagnostics when you choose to share usage data.AppsFlyerMeasures app-install sources and limited subscription conversions using privacy-preserving attribution, including Apple's SKAdNetwork when campaigns are active.ResendDelivers requested emails, stores confirmed email contacts and consent metadata, manages unsubscribes, and records delivery or engagement events.PlausibleProvides privacy-focused website analytics and measures explicit actions in the Attention Architecture funnel.

Retention and Deletion

We keep information only for as long as it is needed for the purposes described above. Purchase records may be kept while needed to provide subscriptions, restore purchases, manage entitlements, handle support, prevent fraud, satisfy accounting or legal requirements, and maintain a reliable purchase history. Optional analytics and diagnostic data are kept only as long as needed to understand product usage, improve the app, and resolve stability issues.

Unconfirmed email addresses may remain in Resend's transactional delivery logs for the period needed to operate and protect the confirmation service, but they are not stored as marketing contacts. For confirmed creator-sprint contacts, we review dormant records and generally delete personal contact data after 12 months of inactivity unless you ask us to delete it sooner. We may retain the minimum suppression record needed to honour an unsubscribe, complaint, or legal obligation.

You can request deletion of data associated with you. Some purchase records may need to be retained where Apple, tax, fraud-prevention, accounting, dispute, or other legal obligations require it.

Your Choices and Rights

On first launch, Take Toucan asks whether you want to share usage and diagnostic data. You can change this choice at any time in the app's Settings. If you turn sharing off, PostHog analytics collection is disabled. AppsFlyer's privacy-preserving install-attribution and subscription-conversion measurement does not access IDFA and does not require an App Tracking Transparency prompt.

You can unsubscribe from the Attention Architecture sprint in one click using the link in every nurture email. You can also ask us to delete the confirmed contact and related consent information by emailing privacy@taketoucan.com. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that was lawful before withdrawal.

  • Ask for a copy of personal data we hold about you.
  • Ask us to correct, delete, or restrict personal data where applicable.
  • Object to or withdraw consent for analytics or diagnostic processing where applicable.
  • Unsubscribe from the Attention Architecture creator sprint using the link in any nurture email.
  • Complain to your local data protection authority if you think your rights have not been respected.

International Processing

Our service providers may process information in countries other than where you live. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as contractual data protection terms with our providers.

Children

Take Toucan is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy if our app, data practices, or legal requirements change. The updated policy will be posted on this page with a new last updated date.
